LOCALLY RUN
Locally owned and operated, The Chill is an 18+ Co-Ed adult amateur ice hockey league dedicated to providing an immersive experience for players at all levels. We play a full season format from September to May but accept free agent players and whole teams in our second half of the season (January - May). We operate in collaboration with Premier Hockey Leagues, a leading provider of adult amateur hockey throughout North America.
The Chill operates under as an affiliate member of the Alaska State Hockey Association and USA Hockey.
The Chill Experience
Join us for 26 regular season games plus a three game guaranteed playoff series. The regular season includes the annual Heritage Classic outdoor game for all teams.
The Chill offers three divisions. The Summit Division for competitive A/B level advanced and intermediate players, the Sourdough Division for intermediate C level players and the recreational Cheechako division for novice players newer to the game, including those enjoying their first league play.

Our founder Brad Spees arrived in Alaska in the late 70's and skated in rec league games including the AAHL and RAHL before retiring and founding the predecessor of The Chill, Moose Hockey Alaska in 2018. Brad's love of the game and positive attitude inspires players and teams to strive for excellence.
Brad is focused on each player getting the most out of their game and believes in promoting a sense of fun and community for all players.
